No story -- just a quick recap:

Kevin Hochtl 4th in men's senior race; Chris Cook running away with the win. Rebecca Dussault 8th; Kikkan Randall takes the women's race. Junior Jamie Woelk placed in the top-30 overall and raced with the seniors, finishing (guessing here) 24th.

On the junior side: Brandon Cooper, fresh back from Sweden, places 2nd in the junior bracket to Matt Gelso.

Team FSx will be broadcasting live audio reports from the 2006 US National Cross-Country Ski Championships at Soldier Hollow, Utah.  University of Utah Coach Eli Brown and other notable ski personalities will be providing race commentary, interviews and overall coverage during the races and throughout the week-long series of races.

Big news day for Rocky Mountain Nordic skiers, so this will be short and sweet:

Sarah Konrad (Larimie, Wyo.) and sisters Tracy and Lanny Barnes (Durango, Colo.) were all named to the US Biathlon women's team. As members of this team, they should be representing the United States at the Olympic games in Torino in February.

Tracy Barnes clinched her spot on the team with a third-place finish today. Full results are not yet posted, but check the US Biathlon Web site for more details: www.usbiathlon.com

The training is done, the skis are prepped, there's snow on the trails -- it's time for Rocky Mountain Nordic skiers to head to Soldier Hollow and represent at Senior Nationals!

On the line are berths to the Olympics, U23 World Championships, World Junior Championships and the J1 Scando Cup -- not to mention some little things known as "National Championships."

John Callahan has tabulated and posted the first Colorado Cup and Rocky Mountain Nordic points lists.

The Colorado Cup is an award given to the club that has the best points total for the entire season. Skiers from J5 to OJ are scored, and all skiers who participate earn points for their team.

Rocky Mountain Nordic points are used to qualify individual racers to the Junior Olympics, held this year in Houghton, Mich.

 Rocky Mountain Nordic Minimize

Rocky Mountain Nordic is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to the development of Cross-Country Skiing in Colorado. RM Nordic has a strong youth program encompassing over 350 young skiers and over 15 different clubs across the state. RM Nordic is working to expand the scope of its programs to provide world-class development and support structures for youth and adult skiers.

The vision of Rocky Mountain Nordic is to advance the sport of cross country skiing in the Rocky Mountain Region as a healthy lifestyle choice for people of all ability levels while developing and supporting internationally successful athletes.

It is the mission of RMN to provide educational, financial, logistical and developmental support for athletes, coaches, clubs and events in the Rocky Mountain Region and beyond.

The RM Nordic Web site provides information on the RM Nordic organization, races schedules and results, training camps, and other events.
