Nordic Combined World Championship Silver Medalist Billy Demong (USST), closely followed by Steamboat's Mark Iverson (SSWSC / Rossignol) and Marty Smith (SSWSC). 

The women's race was won by a hard-charging Jessica Maninci (SSWSC) followed by Gabrielle Joffe (SSWSC / Auburn Ski Club / Williams College) and Missy Krause (SSWSC).

The race was 2 km long and flat as a pancake. Several thousand spectators were on hand and over 50 athletes competed in the event, which was also a part of the Steamboat Summer Nordic Combined Tournee.
