Goblin Valley Camp Info...
 The Aspen and Steamboat Clubs are heading to Goblin Valley, UT June 10-13 - You're invited too...
Aspen and Steamboat will be doing an informal "fun" camp in Goblin
Valley, UT Sunday, June 10 to Wednesday June 13. All other RMN teams or
individuals are also invited. Let me know if you would like to join us.
Best for J2s and older (maybe J3s if they can handle a 16 mile hike).
We have reserved the group camp site at Goblin Valley State Park .
There are tent sites, water, bathrooms and showers. I will charge a
small fee to cover the campground fee. You will need to arrange your
own transportation, meals, tents, etc.
Here's the camp schedule:
Sunday - 6/10
PM Arrive, setup camp, go for a run
Monday - 6/11
Hike down Muddy Creek Canyon (16 miles in and out of the water the
whole way, sometimes chest deep , at places 15 feet wide with 300 foot
walls). Way Cool!
Tuesday - 6/12
AM Hike up one slot canyon and down another (Ding and Dang Canyons).
About 3-4 hours round trip. Some sections are only 4 feet wide. The
Coolest!
PM Capture the flag in Goblin Valley - The best Capture the Flag venue in the world!
Wednesday - 6/13
AM Run. Break camp and depart.
Weather in the Goblin Valley area for mid-June
Highs: Average 92 (record 107)
Lows: Average 52 (record 38)
Precipitation: Average less than π inch for the month of June
Travis and I did this camp a few years ago with the Park City and Boise teams - it was a BLAST. You don't want to miss this.
