The
Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club has announced three new programs. First, a
Summer Residency Program, which will run from July 3rd to Aug. 6th.
This program is open to athletes who will be J1 or older during the 2007-2008
season. Athletes in the Summer Rez Program will live with local families and
train once or twice per day with the SSWSC Cross Country Crew.
The
second program is a year-long Post Grad Program for athletes who have completed
high-school and are interested in training and competing for one or two years
without losing any college eligibility.
This give skiers a chance to increase their training volume and improve
their abilities so that they are prepared to compete successfully in an NCAA
Div. 1 program.
Finally,
the SSWSC is offering a full-time, September to May program for high school age
skier who are interested in joining a top-tier team in order to further their
development as cross country athletes. Student-athletes in this program will
either attend the Lowell Whiteman School (www.lws.edu), living in the dorms or
attend Steamboat High School and live with a local family.
