After much back-and-forth with the powers that be at the US Olympic Committee, our lodging at the OTC has been approved but all of our testing requests have been nixed. Seems that the whole staff is in China for Track and Field World Champs... This being the case, I have decided that, rather than cook our collective butts down in Colorado Springs for 4 days, we will be moving the camp to Steamboat. We have free lodging here as well (courtesy of the Lowell Whiteman School, where I work) and way better training opportunities...
As a result of this change, we have decided to invite Devo Team kids to participate as well. Lodging will be assigned to Select Team first, then to Devo Team on a first-come, first-served basis. We have space for about 20 total...
The dates of the camp remain unchanged - Aug 17-21.
The focus of the camp will still be on testing and intensity.

Lodging for this camp will be at the Lowell Whiteman School in Steamboat and will be free of charge. We are still trying to decide how food will be taken care of, but our goal for this camp is that it will be free of charge, other than a few bucks for hot-springs, tubing and other incidentals.
If you have a home-made ski movie, bring it. We’ll have a Nordic film festival one night…
Everyone should bring:
A sleeping bag and pillow, towel, running stuff, bounding / running poles, skate and DP rollerski gear, HR Monitor, waterbelt, swimsuit, and all of the other usual goods. You will be able to do laundry if you want to.
Staff: Travis Jones, Brian Tate, Ivana Radlova, We’ll see who else!
The objectives for this camp are:
1) To test various parameters of fitness via established trials.
2) To establish a set of test data for each ST / DT Athlete that can be tracked from year to year.
3) To aid in transition from base building period to intensity period.
Directions to the Lowell Whiteman School;
From US 40 Westbound (Lincoln Ave. aka Main St.), turn right on to 3rd St. Take your next right on to Fish Creek Falls Rd. After ¼ mile or so, take your first left on to Amethyst. Stay on Amethyst as it merges with Routt County Road 36 (Strawberry Park Road). The road will pass through Strawberry Park, then cross a creek and start to climb and wind a bit. You’ll see Whiteman on your left about 1 mile past the bridge.
RSVP:
Let me know if you’re planning to come via email by the 5th of August!. I’ll be on vacation in Mexico from Aug. 7-13, so I hope we’ll have a solid list of attendees before my departure. If you need something after I’m gone south, I’ll try to get back to you quickly upon my return…
