I've set up this section so I can post trip reports from the Scando Cup trip without being obnoxious and overwhelming the regular news section. Hopefully, it gets read.
Tomorrow morning at 8am, Tad Elliott and I fly out of Durango to Denver, where we'll meet up with Jamie Woelk (Crested Butte/Gunnison), Ian Havlick (Boulder) and Noah Hoffman (Aspen). (We'll also meet up with some of the other kids who are going with us, but right now I'm too lazy to look up exactly who'll be in the mile-high city. Suffice to say, our posse will have begun to assemble.) From there we'll fly to Chicago, where we meet the rest of the group and then board a SAS flight to Sweden.
We get to Stockholm at 7:50am (except for some East Coasters who will get there a couple of hours later) on Tuesday and will hang around the city for the day and attempt to get our bodies on European time frames before driving to Falun.
In theory, I'll have Internet connections everywhere we go, so I'll be putting up trip reports and photos. The trip is two weeks long; coincidentally, there are 13 athletes coming, so my hope is to strong-arm all of them into writing something up once, thus providing me with content.
Here are the names of the athletes and coaches coming over. No particular order.
Athletes:
Tad Elliott, Ian Havlick, Noah Hoffman (RMN); Ben Fick (Midwest); Patrick Johnson (Alaska); Alex Howe (New England); Reid Pletcher (IMN)
Jamie Woelk (RMN); Ase Carlson, Kate Dolan, Rosie Brennan (IMN); Jennie Bender, Elise Moody (New England)
Coaches:
Jason Cork (RMN); Gary York (Far West); Matt Boobar (New England)
More updates forthcoming.
