Rocky Mountain juniors Glenn Randall (Collbran/Dartmouth College), Tad Elliott (Durango Nordic), Noah Hoffman (Aspen Valley Ski Club), Ian Havlick (Boulder Junior Nordic) and Jamie Woelk (Crested Butte/Gunnison Nordic) were selected to US ski teams last evening at Soldier Hollow.
Randall, Hoffman and Elliott were all named to the World Junior championship team, though Hoffman and Elliott declined to attend. The team is made up of the best junior (19 years old and younger) skiers from the US. They will compete with other juniors in Kranj, Slovenia January 31 through February 5.
Elliott, Hoffman, Havlick and Woelk were named to the J1 Scandinavian Cup team. The team is made up of the top six best 16-17 year of boys and girls Nordic skiers from the US, who will race against Norwegian, Swedish, Finnish and Estonian teams of similar ages. They will travel to Vörå/Vöyri, Finland to race February 3 through 5.
