II. RMN Event Requirements
All RMN races will be assigned a USSA TD. TDs are to receive daily per diem ($50/day), transport ($0.30/mile), meals, and lodging costs. It is the responsibility of the host site to make all accommodations regarding integration of the TD.
All events must be timed with a primary electronic timing system and a separate backup timing system. All results to be submitted to USSA and must be formatted to be consistent with submission to the USSA NRL Points list. All results must be submitted according to the deadlines and procedures as established by USSA Skiing. Any venue failing to submit results in a timely fashion will lose the right to host future RMN events.
Results must be submitted to the RMN Web site and posted by the following Monday by 9am (earlier if possible). JO Qualifying points are to be posted by 5pm Tuesday.
RMN host sites must offer events, each day, for children ages J6 through J3 as part of the RMN event. While the host site has some leeway in the design of these events, the maximum allowable distances for these age classes are as follows: J6 & younger and J5 - 1km, J4 & J3 - 3km. Every consideration should be given to construct age appropriate courses to enhance the competitive experience for these young competitors. In developing the course length, remember we ski most of our events at 9000’. Techniques must match the technique scheduled for the older age classes for a given day.
** Exception to above: Host club on the day of RMN Sprint Events may offer J3's and younger a mass start event, 1 to 3 km's in length.
RMN host sites may offer Master Age Class Events each day. The design of these events is the responsibility of the host site, but may not interfere with the conduct of the scheduled NRL events.
ALL Fees for RMN NRL JOQ's are set by the RMN Competition Committee:
The basic entry fee caps per day are: J6-J3 - $12
J2 - OJ - $22(NRL) or RMN only event J2 – OJ ($18)
The Banquet Fee Cap per person is $12/person
Trail Fee Cap for Training Days $5. Again, these fees are for training days only. All race day trail fees are included in the race daily entry and may not be added onto that entry.
LATE REGISTRATION: after 5pm the Wednesday before the Race weekend is $18 for J3 and younger and $28 for J2 and older. Additional money collected to stay with the host club.
LATE REGISTRATION is allowed up through the evening of Team Leaders meeting or by e-mail the evening prior to the team leaders meeting. There will be no day of race registration.
All courses for both days must be marked by 9am the morning of the day prior to the first event. The course marking signs should depict race lengths, i.e. (1 KM course, 3 KM course, 5 KM course, 7.5 KM course, 10 KM course etc.). This is a particularly important requirement to meet as many teams are on site for inspection one day early. All courses must also be groomed to the highest standard by 9 AM the day prior to the event and in the same manner to be employed for the race event with Start and Finish Lines clearly marked and lap lanes designated.
Course Maps must be posted and available to all team leaders by 9am one day prior to the race at the Race Venue.
Seeding methods for the individual and mass start RMN events will be reviewed and set at the RMN Fall Meeting and applied to the RMN schedule.
No competitor gifts allowed.
Host clubs are obligated to pay the RMN divisional Head Tax to RMN Treasury (Terry Struthers) within 5 days of the completion of the event. The Head taxes are $3/per start for all J2, J1 and OJ competitors and $1/start for all other competitors.
This document will be reviewed each year at the RMN Spring Coaches Meeting, adjusted as needed, and approved for the following year.
