The Team has begun roller-skiing!! Hannah has been out several times; TJ and Ian? Yesterday was their first day this season. Just great. Hopefully next week we will have several more out; making this a regular habit for 6 kids or so! That would be splendid. We are working on a few things: double technique and strength; as well as no poles skating, again, both for strength and technique. Going great. We are meeting regularly together once per week and roller-skiing. In addition; we are meeting twice per week for running and strength; those workouts look something like this: run for 20 min steady; then some ski walking and body position stuff; then some hops/skips; then a fierce set of plyos. After that; we head indoors, and do a good amount of core work and other strengthening with the physio-balls, bosu balls, med balls, bands, etc. We are getting strong; we do not quite look like Marit Bjorgen yet; but we are getting there. Coach is also getting ripped. Awesome for me! Good stuff. The theory; small, consistent doses of ski specific training will greatly aid in performance this upcoming season. Things are happening on this team. Lets keep the momentum going. We'll get there!. Happy training and living. -Duncan
