We wanted to keep you updated on what’s happening in Park City, Utah at the Regional Elite Group camp. We arrived here on Sunday afternoon and immediately jumped into our first workout. We eased into the training with some sweet field games and gathered quite an audience. Speedball has never had so many rules!
The next day we got to rollerski on 7k of paved trails at Soldier Hollow, including Hermods Hill. There was one epic crash, but no one was seriously injured in the process. That afternoon we went to Deer Valley to ski bound up the mountain. By far the best part of the workout was seeing a women’s synchronized unicycling squad (complete with a whistle and drill sergeant) practicing in the parking lot.
Today, Tuesday, we completed a nice two hour double pole workout. At the top of the road, we watched four kayakers shred the gnar down four dropoffs of a waterfall. This afternoon the girls went to the US Ski Team strength facility and did two hours of torturous exercises, including Circle of Death, while the boys did a level 1 frolic for an hour and a half. Tomorrow, the boys will do strength and it will be the girls’ turn to frolic down the hill. More to come. ☺
Love,
Hannah Hausman and Paige Elliott
