When Aspen Valley Ski and Snowboard Club's John Callahan began coaching Noah Hoffman four years ago, he knew the young skier had "a big motor."  that motor propelled Hoffman to 12th in the 10-kilometer classic race at World Juniors this year. He also took eighth in the 10 km free at U.S. Nationals - by far the best junior.  But he didn't surprise himself.

"i wouldhave been disappointed with less," he says without a hint of braggadocio. Hoffman plans to continue training with the Sun Valley Ski Education Foundation and has big plans for 2009.  Top three in the World Junior 10km skate "is possible," he says, adding, "top five at nationals would be pretty sweet."
