JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE:
Rocky Mountain Nordic Executive Director

JOB OVERVIEW: Serve as the Director for Rocky Mountain Nordic (RMN) and work towards excellence in regional cross-country development and competition.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:                

Management:                       
Responsibilities would include but not be limited to:
•    Oversight of RMN website
•    Facilitate communication, education and development within RMN.
•    Manage, stimulate and be a resource for any RMN volunteers committees.
•    Coordinate communication between USSA and RMN event organizers to ensure events are sanctioned and results submitted in timely fashion
•    Keep RMN current on any changes the USSA makes that would affect RMN junior skiers qualifying and competing in the Junior Nationals and who are attempting to qualify for the USSA Scandinavian Trip or the USSA World Junior Championship Team.
•   

Administration:                   
Oversee Junior National Qualifying events to insure that a competent Timing Contractor is in place for each event. 
Attend spring and fall RMN board meetings and coordinate that minutes of those meetings are being completed.
Insure that RMN has attendance at the annual USSA convention.
Act as the RMN Membership Chairman.
Oversee the RMN Disciplinary Committee.
 
Seasonality/Time commitment:
The busiest months are the racing season: Thanksgiving through March. Travel to regional races  expected.


JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge, skills and ability:
•    Be self directed.
•    Have experience and knowledge of the competitive cross country ski youth programs at the local, state, regional and national level.
•    Have a proven ability to manage a multi faceted budget.
•    Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•    Have the ability to facilitate large groups.
•    Be proficient in website management

Salary: $5000 - $7000 per year depending on qualifications. This is a part time contract employee position renewable annually on May 1. There are no benefits.
In order to provide an incentive for fundraising, additional funding is available based on percent of money generated through fundraising.
