Sportz Outdoor in Albuquerque and the Chama Rotary Club present the 2008 Chama Chile Ski Classic and Snow Fiesta...

The 35th Annual Chama Chile Ski Classic and Snow Fiesta will be held over Martin Luther King, Jr. Weekend, in the beautiful Chama Valley.

The Fiesta kicks off on Saturday, Jan. 19, with the Chile Snowmobile Poker Run.  Just $25.00 entry gives you the chance to enjoy miles of snowmobile fun and two chances to win half of the pot.  Snowmobile rentals are available at a special rate of $50.00 for the event.

On Sunday, January 20, the big event of the weekend is the Chama Chile Ski Classic, 5K & 10K freestyle cross country ski races and a 5K snowshoe race for all ages and abilities.  The 2008 event is a Colorado Cup 10K Series Race.   Event registrations will be accepted at the pasta feed at High Country Restaurant, beginning at 5PM on Saturday, 1/19.    Race day registration and a breakfast buffet will begin at 8AM on 1/20, at High Country Restaurant.

The Rotary club is hard at work to improve this historic event with the addition of a warming hut and the Rotary Food Concession Trailer at the start/finish, long-sleeve t-shirts and commemorative pins for all skiers, age division award medals, and an award ceremony with free green chile stew and live entertainment at High Country Restaurant, following the races
